Behind the scenes at the Toronto Film Festival, film buyers got a sneak peek at a new movie starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Joe Strummer, the late lead singer of the Clash.

The footage was appropriately shown at pop-up venue London House, set up for the UK film industry. Meyers — who was photographed in May in London swilling vodka on the streets and looking disheveled — wowed viewers in a clip as punk legend Strummer, singing “White Riot.”

“Everyone had goose bumps,” said a source who saw the footage from “London Town,” which is set in 1978. Meyers does all the singing as Strummer in the movie about a teen obsessed with the band. The Ramones and Buzzcocks are also on the soundtrack, and agencies ICM and CAA are selling US rights.

Cargo Entertainment/Radiant Films have been handling international rights.
